Translation (Written)
I’m a French to English translator. Like most translators, I translate into my native language, in my case, English. (I grew up in Australia, but am now based in Paris.)
I mostly specialise in journalistic and cultural texts, with a focus on dance and the performing arts. I work for a range of clients in these areas, including Le Centre Pompidou, The Conversation, Canal+ and various dance companies. As well as working with a wide range of businesses (such as Ralph Lauren and Disney France) and NGOs (Oxfam, Friends of the Earth etc.). I’m also passionate about and love to translate popular science.
Interpreting (Spoken)
Similarly to my translation work, I chiefly interpret in cultural contexts, such as literary festivals (like Les Etonnants Voyageurs) and other events, for clients such as The British Council, The French national office for contemporary performing arts (ONDA), the Lyon Dance Biennial and Shakespeare & Co book store here in Paris. But I also do a lot of work in the commercial sector, mainly live interpreting marketing research interviews.
For simultaneous interpreting (meaning interpreting at the same time as the speaker) I work exclusively into English for now. However for consecutive interpreting (the speaker pauses every few minutes for translation), I can interpret both into English and into French.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or to discuss rates. Even if your requirements seem a little outside of my particular box, if I am unable to help, I’ll do my best to direct you to someone who can.
I look forward to hearing from you!
